OUR MISSION
At Oinking Acres our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and advocate for abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted pigs and farm animals in our community. We provide permanent sanctuary for all animals we take in.
Since 2017 we have successfully rescued thousands of abandoned, neglected, and unwanted farm animals.
What We've Achieved
Rescued 500 pigs since 2017.
We have placed over 350 pigs since 2017.
In 2017 we started to renovate our old 1910s dairy barn into a safe haven for farm animals, mostly pigs.
In the span of a year we raised our capacity number from 8 to 100+ pigs.
In 2018 we expanded our fencing so all our pigs could have outside space. However, we are at capacity again and are in need of funds to expand the fencing. We have the land but lack fencing around all 36 acres.
We have assisted in multiple hoarding and neglect cases and have pulled pigs from several county and city shelters.
Sponsor a Sign
We’re working on a fun new project at Oinking Acres, and we’d love for you to be part of it! One of the things I love most about our sanctuary is that every single animal has a story to tell. Some have survived unimaginable circumstances, some have quite literally jumped their way to freedom, and others have found their way to us after years of neglect. I want to make sure those stories are shared with everyone who visits Oinking Acres!
I’ve been working on creating individual signs for each of our animal residents! Each sign will feature their name, a photo, their rescue story, and a little bit about what makes them special. These signs will hang throughout our barns, giving visitors and volunteers the opportunity to learn more about the animals they’re meeting.
Sign’s that need a sponsor
Here’s where you come in! We’re going to give our supporters the opportunity to sponsor a sign for their favorite resident! You’ll be able to choose whichever pig you’d like to sponsor, and help us bring their story to life. As a thank-you for your sponsorship, your name will be permanently displayed at the bottom of their sign!
I’ve attached a photo of some of the signs so you can see what they’ll look like! Not only is this a fun way to support the sanctuary, but it’s also a special opportunity to have your name displayed alongside an animal you love. Your sponsorship will help us create something that can be enjoyed by visitors and volunteers for years to come.
